Papers of the Perry family, 1834-1924.

The collection contains medical bills of William Hartwell Perry (1802-1870), a Lunenburg County, Va. physician as well as a revised schedule of medical fees necessitated by Civil War inflation. Most of the collection consists of financial papers of William Hartwell Perry (b. 1836), a Nottoway County, Va. lawyer. There is some legal correspondence, especially over the settlement of an estate in the Scott family in which Perry's wife was a party. A letter from Beverley Dandridge Tucker is concerned with the sale of a church, and one from Perry to William Hodges Mann discusses a revision in the state code concerning incapacitated trustees.
